In December 2024, NASA astronaut and Space Force Guardian General Nick Hague ran his “T‑10” from the International Space Station, logging 10 miles on a space treadmill—about one orbit of Earth in 90 minutes—and shared that he “enjoyed virtually joining everyone at Patrick Space Force Base for the T‑10 Miler. In 2025, he’s set to trade microgravity for Florida asphalt and join thousands of runners on the ground at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

Here’s your fun, food‑truck‑powered guide to put on your space coast events list:

Most runners will finish well under two hours, and the speedsters will cruise in under an hour. Wheelchair and handcycle athletes can come screaming through the course in roughly 30–60 minutes. If you’re planning to enjoy the views and history, there is plenty of time, just keep a steady pace and respect the cutoff. You will start near Whites Point, then cross a pair of causeways with sweeping Atlantic views. Then run past Launch Complex 34, home of the Apollo 1 Memorial and the launch site for Apollo 7. Continue along ICBM Road, passing historic pads like LC‑19 (Gemini missions) and LC‑14 (Mercury flights, including John Glenn’s Friendship 7). Finally, finish by the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse, racing past decades of American launch heritage right before you hit the line. It’s one of the only times each year that everyday runners get to see this much space history on foot (and be on Cape Canaveral SFS). The finish line is centered around the finish line tent, where finisher refreshments are served and medals are handed out. Additionally, there will be sponsors, exhibitors and a row of food trucks turning the finish into a mini-food-fest with free beer sponsored by Cross Country Mortgage for runners when they present their bib ticket. And yes, the finish line is where all 10‑Miler finishers receive their medal; typically presented by a uniformed service member. It’s a very “Space Force” moment supporting space coast events this weekend.
